EMCID ROLE
As Communications and Events Manager for EMCID, Jennifer is responsible for developing copy and organizing materials for press releases, the website, and social media, and for assisting with the quarterly newsletter, The Insider. She also focuses on community initiatives, such as Community Development Grants, and works to build relationships between EMCID and the community it serves. Jennifer manages and oversees events at The Atrium Center, owned and operated by EMCID, and manages EMCID’s external events, including the Eggcellent Event and the Officers of the Year Ceremony. Jennifer is passionate about strengthening the communities she serves through authentic storytelling, meaningful engagement and innovative communications.
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
A native of the Kingwood area and graduate of Kingwood High School, Jennifer returned to the area after college and was hired as a full-time reporter for the Observer Newspapers. For the first 11 years of her career, she wrote for both the Observer Newspaper Group and the Courier of Montgomery County Newspapers, covering everything from new businesses and education to court cases, breaking news, and crime. Her work as a journalist earned a reputation for accurate reporting, compelling storytelling and building trusted relationships throughout the community.
