Groundbreaking Ceremony

The East Montgomery County Improvement District Board of Directors celebrated the official groundbreaking of the 210,000-square-foot convention center on Monday, March 10 in Valley Ranch Town Center. The groundbreaking ceremony featured speakers including Frank McCrady, President/CEO of EMCID; Commissioner Matt Gray’s Office, Montgomery County Precinct 4; Michael Chatham with HHCP Architects | a GHC Orcutt Winslow Company; Aaron Bradford, Operations Manager, SpawGlass; and Greg Wattson, Senior Vice President, Commercial Development at the Signorelli Company.
The Convention Center Goes Vertical


EMCID’s Convention Center is vertical! Postel Erection Group raised the first tilt wall August 11, 2025, as construction on the 210,000-square-foot convention center steadily progresses. Walls went up on the offices and the kitchen area.
Excavation Begins in Parking Garage

Topping Out Ceremony

EMCID, SpawGlass, and dozens of others involved in the creation and construction of the district’s 210,070-square-foot convention center participated in a Topping Out Ceremony November 20, 2025. This commemorates a major construction milestone of completing the structural frame and celebrates progress toward finishing the building. For the ceremony, a steel beam was painted so that the project team, construction crews, and EMCID board and staff could sign the beam. The beam was then hoisted into place, completing the frame of the building.

Parking Garage Nearly Complete

The parking garage is nearly complete, and enclosure work continues to move the Convention Center forward with power, windows, and glass getting ready to be installed. It’s exciting to see construction progress

Interior Work Continues
Finishing touches are now being added to the parking garage such as roofing, guardrails and elevator installation, and with the exterior of the Convention Center nearly complete, interior work like wall framing as well as work on the escalator and elevator is beginning to take shape.



Outside Glass Work begins

Crews worked to install glass on the signature meeting rooms and front entrance into the convention center.
Beautiful Interior Additions

Interior walls are up, the kitchen is taking shape, and decorative ceiling work in the lobby is set to begin soon. Floors are being prepped as the real transformation comes together. Interior design selections, furniture, fixtures, and equipment have all been finalized — and it’s going to be beautiful!
EMCID Board of Directors Approves Negotiations with OVG

The EMCID Board of Directors approved a recommendation today to enter exclusive negotiations with Oak View Group for the management of the district’s new 210,000-square-foot convention center currently under construction in Valley Ranch Town Center.
This is an important step toward bringing world-class events, entertainment, meetings, and community gatherings to our region. EMCID remains committed to creating a premier destination that will enhance the visitor experience and provide new opportunities for residents and visitors alike.
