A native of the Kingwood area, Jennifer has always had a passion for community involvement and writing.
A graduate of Kingwood High School, Jennifer went on to attend Louisiana State University where she majored in Communications and Journalism. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Communications and Journalism, she returned to the Kingwood area where she was hired as a full-time reporter for the Observer Newspapers.
For the past 11 years, Jennifer has worked for both the Observer Newspaper group and the Courier of Montgomery County Newspapers where she has written about everything from new businesses to education, court cases, breaking news and crime. She has also worked as a freelance writer for the Tribune Newspaper and in Sales/Marketing for Minuteman Press of Humble.

Communications and Community Relations Specialist
With all these experiences and networking opportunities, Jennifer is excited for the chance to work as a Communications and Community Relations Specialist for the East Montgomery County Improvement District since she will be back in the community she loves and will be closer to home, friends and family.
As a Communications Specialist for EMCID, Jennifer is tasked to put together copy and organize materials for press releases, website, social media, the monthly advertorial in the East Montgomery County Observer, “The Spotlight,” and puts together the bi-monthly newsletter, The Insider. She will also focus on different projects that benefit the community and continue to build relationships between EMCID and the community it serves.
Jennifer also serves as the President of the Board for FamilyTime Crisis and Counseling Center, a local nonprofit dedicated to helping victims of domestic abuse and human trafficking through counseling and providing a safe shelter for those in need. In addition to FamilyTime, Jennifer also serves on the publicity committee for the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo’s World Championship Bar-B-Que Contest where she helps to coordinate media interviews with cook-off teams and many others on the grounds of the cook-off.
In addition to writing and working, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her husband, friends and family members, who also live in the East Montgomery County area, dining at a few of her favorite restaurants and attending festivals.
