To bring affordable healthcare options to the East Montgomery County area, the East Montgomery County Improvement District reached out to the Express Family Clinic about opening a new clinic in the New Caney area.
With rental assistance through an incentive agreement with EMCID, Express Family Clinic opened its third location in Valley Ranch Town Center and continues to grow its client base in the area.
“EMCID inquired if we would be interested in opening a clinic in New Caney since there were not many options for affordable healthcare in the area,” said Melissa Herpel with Express Family Clinic. “There was a need in EMC for a clinic that provides primary care for those without health insurance and a need for a low-cost alternative. EMCID’s assistance was critical for us to move to the New Caney area. We are more than thankful for their continued support.”
Express Family Clinic is a full-service family practice and urgent care clinic that opened its first location in the Spring area in 2011. The second location in Conroe opened in 2014 and the New Caney location opened in 2018. The clinic does not require appointments and office visits are $50.
The clinic’s busiest time of year is when kids are getting ready to head back to school. They provide EKGs with every sports physical, which is beneficial for those students who play sports, $10 for vaccines for children 18 and younger, and routine examinations.
“We generally stay busy in the fall because we are easily accessible and affordable for everybody,” said Herpel. “We can get you in and out of our clinics quickly. If we can’t take care of your issue, we will provide you with a reliable referral to someone who can help.”
In the future, they plan to expand their telemedicine program, which allows patients to call in from home and speak to a doctor about any issues or illnesses they may have.
“We want to provide a fast, caring environment for our patients with a smile. We want everyone to know we care about whatever the problem may be,” she said. “Our patients are an extension of our family. This is my community, too, so we want everyone to feel like they are at home at Express Family Clinic. Customer service is of the utmost importance to me and we can’t wait to meet our future patients.”
