BOARD ROLE
Making a difference in the East Montgomery County area — a place she has called home for more than 50 years — fueled Liz Mullane to run for Director on the EMCID Board. After retiring from Continental Airlines, Liz became interested in volunteering in the community; however, her desire to give back sent her back into the workforce, where she served as City Administrator in Roman Forest for nine years. She was elected in 2022 and reelected in 2026, with her current term expiring in 2030.
“It is enjoyable to make a difference in the community where I live. I want to serve a bigger footprint of residents than our little city,” said Liz. “I believe my experience in both the private and public sector in financial and management roles will bring a unique perspective to the board of directors.”
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
One of Liz’s favorite things about the East Montgomery County area is the long-term residents who make a difference by serving the community. “The leadership in the community consists of individuals who strive to ensure we grow in a positive direction,” said Liz. “I love spending time with my grandchildren; this is the best reason to retire from a full-time position and serve on a board that makes a difference in our community. It is important to teach generations that we should strive to get involved.”
FAMILY
Liz is married to David; they have two sons and four grandchildren. In her spare time, Liz enjoys gardening, spending time with family, exploring small Texas towns to go antiquing, genealogy and her faith.
