The Back to School Bash didn’t disappoint, as hundreds of area children and their parents made their way to the annual free event Tuesday, September 9 at the EMCID Complex. Volunteers handed out around 400 backpacks stuffed with school supplies to a line of waiting students.
Community non-profit organizations and local businesses lined the parking lots with their booths full of additional crayons, notebook paper, folders and more. Of course no festival would be complete without some fun! A camel, ponies, donkeys and other various animals waited for children to ride or pet them. Visitors also enjoyed rock wall climbing, face painting, rides, bounce houses and dance performances. Some even got their back to school hair cuts.
