Volunteers at the Mission Northeast were up to their eyeballs in turkeys (literally at times) when EMCID delivered 50 frozen birds to its donation warehouse Wednesday, December 10. EMCID’s Board of Directors also showed up with 20 small hams.
The non-profit organization, which expects to feed approximately 450 families (or about 2,000 people) this Christmas, serves needy persons throughout 11 zip codes, an area over 800 square miles.
“Our service outreach more than doubles during the holidays,” said Pam Dixon, Director of Mission Northeast.
Each month Mission Northeast provides food, clothing and household items to persons in need; sometimes these are individuals who may have lost a job or are going through a rough time and just need a little help to get through the holidays.
