De Kingwood de toda la vida, Jennifer siempre ha tenido pasión por la participación comunitaria y la escritura.
A graduate of Kingwood High School, Jennifer attended Louisiana State University, where she majored in Communications and Journalism. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Communications and Journalism, she returned to the Kingwood area, where she was hired as a full-time reporter for the Observer Newspapers.
For the first 11 years of her career, Jennifer worked for both the Observer Newspaper Group and the Courier of Montgomery County Newspapers, writing about everything from new businesses and education to court cases, breaking news, and crime. She has also worked as a freelance writer for the Tribune Newspaper and in Sales/Marketing for Minuteman Press of Humble.
With all these experiences and networking opportunities, Jennifer is excited for the chance to work as a Communications and Events Manager for the East Montgomery County Improvement District since she will be back in the community she loves and will be closer to home, friends and family.

Communications and Events Manager
As a Communications and Events Manager for EMCID, Jennifer is responsible for developing copy and organizing materials for press releases, the website, and social media, and for assisting with the quarterly newsletter, The Insider. She will also focus on community initiatives, such as Community Development Grants, and continue to build relationships between EMCID and the community it serves. Additionally, Jennifer manages and oversees events at The Atrium Center, owned and operated by EMCID, and manages EMCID’s external events, including the Eggcellent Event and the Officers of the Year Ceremony.
Jennifer also serves as the President of the Board for FamilyTime Crisis and Counseling Center, a local nonprofit dedicated to helping victims of domestic abuse and human trafficking through counseling and providing a safe shelter for those in need. In addition to FamilyTime, Jennifer serves on the publicity committee for the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo’s World Championship Bar-B-Que Contest, where she helps coordinate media interviews with cook-off teams and others on the cook-off grounds.
In addition to writing and working, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her husband, friends, and family members, who also live in the East Montgomery County area, dining at a few of her favorite restaurants, and attending festivals.
