Electronics Recycling Event

The East Montgomery County Improvement District will host an Electronics Recycling Event Saturday, September 8 at the EMCID parking lot. Many electronics are not accepted by waste collection companies because they have hazardous materials. However, with the help of CompuCycle, we’ll accept your electronics and recycle them! A time for the event will be announced later this summer.

Acceptable Items

Computers Monitors TVs (LCDs, flat screens, etc. any size; CRT (tube) TVs up to 60")
Routers Hubs Mice & Keyboards
Laptops Printers Switches
Power cords Cables/cable boxes Fax machines
UPS Servers Telephones
Cellular phones Ink jet cartridges Toner cartridges

*Individuals are responsible for the destruction of hard drives before dropping off.

Unacceptable Items

Vacuum cleaners Clocks Home appliances - large (ex. refrigerators, stoves, washing machines, dryers)
CRT (tube) TVs larger than 60" Paint cans Home appliances - small (ex. microwaves, toasters, blenders)
Weed eaters Game consoles Space heaters
Radios Irons Rice cookers
Thermostats (any type) Freezers Air conditioners
Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors Oil waste Fluorescent light bulbs
Medical/biohazard waste Household alkaline batteries (ex. AA, AAA, C, D, 9v)
